Jeramey, you didn’t include the absolutely fabulous Gardens of Salonica in Northeast Minneapolis. It’s a touch of Greece smack dab in the center of the oldest part of the city. The owner/chef Anna Christoforides is renowned for her authentic Greek delicacies such as moussaka and pastitsio; but you also have to try her tarama. Julia Childs pronounced them the best pickled beets she ever tasted. Then there is Anna’s modern take on Greek classics such as her savory boughatsas. There is no where in Milwaukee where one can get authenticate Greek flavors like Gardens.
