“You have your home, you have your work, but everyone needs a third space,” says Third Space Brewing Co-Founder Andy Gehl.

Your “third space” is the place where you feel comfortable and welcoming, where you can go to have a good time and get away from it all. That’s where Third Space Brewing comes in. This Menomonee Valley brewery is spacious and welcoming, and has anywhere from 10 to 25 beers available in their taproom, with five core beers that are always available. From its Happy Place Midwest Pale Ale, to Upward Spiral IPA and Acres Edge Toasted Oatmeal Stout and more, the brewery strives to create high-quality, flavorful and well balanced craft beers for each taste pallet. Since opening in September 2016, Third Space Brewing has become one of the fastest growing breweries in the nation, selling 2,195 barrels of beer in its first year and 5,300 in its second. Soon, you’ll be able to find their beer in 19 counties throughout Wisconsin.

What, you haven’t tried it yet? Well, here’s the perfect chance to do so, to bring a little fun into the work week at an easy-going third space. Urban Milwaukee members are invited to join us at Third Space Brewing on Thursday, March 7th starting at 5:30 p.m. An RSVP is required as space is limited. Members are allowed to bring one guest, but must request an additional ticket when reserving their spot. Third Space Brewing will be holding two brewery tours for Urban Milwaukee members; the first at 6 p.m., and the second at 6:30, which will be run on a first-come-first-serve basis. All members will get one free beer ticket upon arrival.

And, to add to the fun, the women-owned food truck Lumpia City will be joining us in Third Space’s spacious beer garden. Lumpia City serves tasty Filipino lumpia with awesome fusion fillings such as mac and cheese, Philly cheese steak, and sometimes even pizza-inspired fillings. Lumpia (pronounced LOOM-pee-uh) is a Filipino appetizer that is comparable to an egg roll. The thin, crisp wrapper gives a delicious crunch to every bite. Their menu will be finalized closer to the event. More information on this food truck can be found here.

Third Space Brewing is located in a historic factory building in Milwaukee’s old manufacturing hub, the Menomonee River Valley, on the corner of W. St Paul Ave. and N. 16th St at 1505 W. St Paul Ave. For more information on Third Space Brewing, including what’s on tap and where to buy their beer around town, visit their website.

The event is meant to reward Urban Milwaukee’s loyal members and create an easy going way for our staff and writers and readers to get together for tasty beers and convivial conversation about matters both urban and not. Here’s the rundown: arrive at 5:30, take one of the two Third Space Brewing tours, get a free beer, enjoy a fun fusion lumpia – and have fun.

We’d love to have a locally made craft beer with you. And, if you’re looking to chat less, but enjoy the beer? That’s great too; the taproom is very spacious and has an “open brewery” concept. If the weather is pleasant, seating will also be available outside in the large beer garden.

So, RSVP today.
