This week Urban Milwaukee will celebrate Downer Avenue Week in honor of the historic and vibrant street, first named in the 1890s. We’ll be publishing an article on a different aspect of Downer Avenue from Monday through Friday, December 3rd through the 7th. We want to highlight the many exciting things happening on the vintage, yet contemporary street.

The Downer Avenue Business Improvement District is eager to showcase what makes this unique East Side avenue great: its people, culture, businesses, food and more. It’s the perfect place to keep in mind for the holidays.

So stay tuned as Urban Milwaukee presents Downer Avenue-themed content daily, including a Dining Review, Bar Exam, a story on an expanding business, a slice of the avenue’s history and a complete urban guide to the street. Visit http://www.downeravenue.com/ for more information on the street.

And watch for an exciting Downer Avenue-themed giveaway — yes, another Urban Milwaukee freebie — to be announced in the coming days.
