Outside groups supporting Democrats are pouring money into two upcoming legislative special elections in Wisconsin.

The elections in the 1st Senate and 42nd Assembly districts are scheduled June 12 to fill the vacant seats.

The 1st District Senate race pits Democrat Caleb Frostman against GOP Rep. Andre Jacque, of De Pere, who has been elected to the Assembly since 2010. Outside spending in the Senate race totaled about $233,000 by three groups since the May primary, including:

League of Conservation Voters political action committee, which is spending about $170,750 on staff, television and radio ads, and other campaign material to support Frostman. The group has sharply upped its outside spending in this race, compared to a special election in the 10th Senate District earlier this year, when it doled out only $390.

National Democratic Redistricting Committee, which is spending $35,000 on online advertising to support Frostman. The group was created in 2016 by former Democratic U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.

For Our Future, which is spending $27,320 on brochures and staff to support Frostman. The group was formed in 2016 by billionaire environmentalist Tom Steyer and national labor groups to support Democrats for state and federal offices.

In the 42nd Assembly race, Democrat Ann Groves Lloyd faces Republican Jon Plumer. Three groups filed paperwork, saying they plan to spend about $40,000 so far on the race, including:

For Our Future, which is spending about $16,700 on staff and brochures to support Lloyd.

National Democratic Redistricting Committee, which is spending $15,000 on online advertising to support Lloyd.

Wisconsin Realtors Political Fund, which is spending about $8,300 on online advertising and robocalls to support Plumer.

The winners of the two special elections will have to run again in the regular November elections.

After years and years of out of state Republican billionaire’s massive campaign donations to Career Politician Scott Walker and Republicans, propping up their crooked schemes, lies and corruption, thankfully Democrats have finally decided to fight fire with fire! I doubt it will help however, Walker is a career politician for a reason. He has been mooching off of the Big Government for 28 years in a row! Mooching off taxpayers, selling out the state to Big Corporate interest’s Dark Money while blaming the working class and the poor for everything is all crooked Walker knows how to do.

Career Politician Scott Walker and Republicans are as crooked, corrupt and duplicitous as they come folks.

    Dump Walker 2018

Sorry republican morons but this isn’t Dark Money! God you idiots are stupid!? Here is a quick educational link for you fools showing you the difference. Dark Money is from unknown sources, meaning the source is NOT required to be revealed to the FEC. Simple campaign donations like the democrats are getting here are required to be disclosed, thus we know the source. The millions and millions Career Politician Scott Walker and republicans have received for years and years is funneled through non-profits which conceal their sources. THAT is Dark Money and it has corrupted Wisconsin! Educate yourselves before commenting lest you put your obvious stupidity on further display for the entire world to see!
