Would this building ever been built without Milwaukee County government denying Northwestern Mutual a contract to upgrade Odonnel park’s parking facilities. Who will park at Odonnel now? Silly county supervisors.

This building tops my list of 2017’s most skyline-altering buildings. Really effective impact from the north-south views of our city. And an attractive tower, to boot.

Hoping for a few more skyscrapers that aren’t right along the lakefront (way to go, BMO!)

    Happy holidays, by the way.

I would buy one of these apartments, but the issue for downtown and the third ward is having a decent grocery store close by that one can bike or walk too. The “Public Market” is nice, but it is not a grocery store. A grocery store rising where one of the surface level parking lots is south of downtown and north of the Public Market would be a real magnet. Other big city neighborhoods (look to Chicago folks) feature buildings of this sort with a buy in from say Whole Foods or Sendik’s who puts a full service grocery on the first floor.

@BackwaterMKE – There is a Metro Market grocery store just a few blocks from this site. A Pick ‘n Save and a Fresh Thyme are also fairly close. East Town has a number of grocery store.

I agree that the lack of a Third Ward or Westown grocery store holds those areas back from reaching their full potential.
