The Return of Rock the Green

Since 2011, it's been Milwaukee's most sustainable music festival.

Rock the Green, an environmentally sustainable music festival was held at the Reed Street Yards in Walker’s Point on Saturday, Sept. 9th.

The music festival, strives to educate and empower the community to take actionable steps to live sustainably, raising awareness and showcasing zero waste efforts through waste reclamation, recycling and composting. It has earned the Travel Green Wisconsin Certification for sustainability practices and as a green destination.

The Pedal Power Stage presented by Responsible Battery Coalition was powered by bicycle power supplied by local cycling teams.

The Eco-Kids stage included presentations from Urban Ecology Center, OmTown Yogis, Beevangelist, Living Lands & Waters and Teens Grow Greens. Rock the Green featured sustainable, locally grown and healthy food vendors in the Farm to Fork area on the festival grounds.

Musical guests included Reyna, Baio, Mondo Cozmo, Barns Courtney, Girls Rock Milwaukee, Evan Christian Band, Devil Met Contention, Klassik, D’Amato and headliner Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals.
