According to the CC, Heaggan-Brown offered the victim Hennessey, which the bartender didn’t normally serve, but apparently kept behind the bar just for him.

“an advanced stage of patination, rust and decay.” Iconic words to describe the aging process of us all.

What was this conflict between this police and S Sylville Smith? Seems suspiciously misunderstood. The video traps needs to be released. The relationship between Sylville and this former cop needs to be examined. What is the untold story on the streets?

Hard (now) to imagine The East Sider as a Soft Drink Parlor! Amazing history! Thanks again, Michael Horne!

My dad and grandmother lived in the apartment building next door to The Eastsider during the Depression, after my grandfather passed away. My dad used to tell the story of their neighbor down the hall, who would slip in and out, never speaking to anyone. One day the police knocked on my grandma’s door, asking if they had any knowledge of the secretive man. It turned out that he was John Dillinger. I wonder if he ever drank at The Eastsider!
