Four stages of live music. Local vendors. Plenty of food. Lots of beer. The 2016 Brady Street Festival had it all, including great weather and even better people watching. The annual one-day event, which runs from N. Van Buren St. to N. Farwell Ave., packed the Lower East Side on Saturday.

The annual drag show capped off a night of entertainment on the west end of E. Brady St. that also included a Zumba class, belly dancing and professional wrestling. The east end was just as busy with musicians entertaining the crowds from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Not to be outdone, the middle of the festival featured Division BMX and the Milwaukee Flyers performing shows, as well as a cheese curd eating contest and a well-attended cheese sampling. If that wasn’t enough, attendees were still welcome to stroll through the eclectic mix of bars, restaurants and shops that make Brady St. the heart of the Lower East Side.
