I’ll have to go back to Angelo’s now that I’ve read your review, Michael Horne! Excellent work, as usual!
Really a nice history of the ole place.
Now it’s probably going to become some lame Hipster bar.
A very nice read…….details…..Wow! ….. I am a jazz singer. I took on a residency at Angelos years ago to help Angelo keep his club up and running. I sang there and hired the musicians. So, technically, I was a “lounge singer” when I was there, but that would not be my classification as far as my career is concerned. See http://www.jerrygrillo.com
Piano players take requests and will play rat pack tunes that I have witnessed many times. Anybody can go up and sing by asking the piano player.
