We last covered the construction of the new Ingram Place Apartments on 2001 N. Holton St. in late July. Back then, the only structures completed were the garage, elevator towers and the wooden frames for the first floor. But now, most of the building is complete, looking closer and closer to the original renderings.

The 4-story building will have 53 residential units, including 27 two-bedroom and 26 three-bedroom units. 45 units are low-income while 8 will be market-rate. Also included is a fitness center, community room and 62 parking spaces. Monthly rents start at $520 and range as high as $910 for the market-rate units.

On July 16, 2013, the Common Council’s Zoning, Neighborhoods and Development Committee approved the Detailed Planned Development for the apartments. Vangard Development Group, LLC, led by Kalan Haywood, is developing the building. Korb + Associates Architects is handling design and Horizon Development Group, Inc., is handling construction. Vangard Group received $598,818 in federal tax credits to go towards the building.

The building is planned for completion by December.

Wish the brick would’ve better reflected the cream city looking style in the renderings, but regardless, this project will be a nice boost for the neighborhood.
