    Michael, in the early 80s, before the change to “The Schmidt House,” it was called “John & Pat’s.”

    Glad to hear of the switch to big band & cool jazz; when The Standard first opened, they drove away many former Circa customers (certainly the chess players) with punk & metal at conversation-obliterating volume. I guess drinking alone got boring.
