Is there a previous article on the site addressing the design of this building?? I’d like to read what the general reaction is to the building’s aesthetics.
Someone is a little nostalgic….Is the building going to be completed last century or in 2017?
@Casey – The building is being built using a time machine. You are correct, 2017 is the actual completion date. Not sure how that typo got in there, but I’ll blame myself.

Just a small correction to your outstanding coverage. The building at 795 North VanBuren was neither brutalist nor a data center. While it was a bit brutal, that term wasn’t yet in use. It was just a boring piece of architecture by the firm of Von Grossman, Burroughs and VonLinden. It was the Milwaukee office of Arthur Anderson. They moved there from their ancient offices in the old Majestic building on Wisconsin Avenue. They outgrew the space fairly quickly and rented additional space in a building at the corner of Mason and VanBuren before consolidating those offices in the newly-built First Wisconsin building. I know all of this because my mother worked for Arthur Anderson from 1955 until her retirement in 1984.

It is also not a so called “brutalist” building because of the materials, really everything about it.
