Michael:
Kind of you to mention my anniversary.
My wife and I love The Landmark and living on the East Side. Even though public records may not reflect it, the building has a lovely Club Room, a Workout Room and a spectacular, well-appointed deck overlooking McKinley Marina.
Also, thank you for remembering our dear friend, Lynise Weeks. She was full of life. I visit her grave at Wisconsin Memorial Park on a regular basis. The wind chimes nearby often start ringing. I’d like to think she’s acknowledging my presence, but she may be scolding me for not delivering her favorite meal… lobster and champagne. 🙂
See you on Brady Street. Best wishes!
Mike Jacobs
My 20th floor apartment in Prospect Towers faced north, and this fairly enormous and not altogether unattractive building took up much of my view, with only an older midrise apartment building separating the two high rises. I saw Mr. Jacobs out and about many times, and he certainly seemed to be a friendly and nice person, shoveling snow at the bus stop on occasion, as well.
I didn’t see this building go up but had thought it was of reinforced concrete construction similar to the newer condo building on Prospect north of here consisting of the two very large towers connected at the base — the one that went bankrupt at the end of the boom. That is the type of construction that Prospect Towers has, among other buildings in the area, but I had seen some newer ones built from precast/prefabricated panels towards the end of the last housing boom. I moved to St. Louis in 2009 and don’t know what all has transpired since.
