Music

Summerfest is going strong in its second week. Upcoming headliners for the week include New Kids on the Block with 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men, Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, John Mayer with Phillip Phillips and the Eagles – not to mention all the artists on free stages. There are a variety of ways to see shows at a discounted price, thanks to local vendors and companies. You can also hear what TCD writers had to say about last week’s performances by reading our recaps.

The Wilson Center’s Starry Nights concert gets nostalgic Friday with Rockin’ Robin Classic Car show, at Brookfield’s Mitchell Park. Browse the best of Wisconsin’s hot rods and classic custom cars to the music of the ’50s and ’60s. This event is free and will take place on Friday, July 5 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Picnics are welcome, but food and beverages are also available to purchase.

Special Events

There’s a variety of events on tap for the Fourth of July in Milwaukee.

There will be an Firework Kite Festival on Wednesday, July 3 at the lakefront, with a fireworks display sponsored by U.S. Banks at dusk, approximately 9:25 p.m. Patrons are encouraged to arrive early, as this is always a crowded event. The Fourth of July Commission will also have fireworks displays at a dozen other locations throughout the city.
