What drives one to go for a swim in Lake Michigan during the dead of winter?  Who knows? Be it for the sheer thrill of it or just to say you did it, hundreds of Milwaukeeans participate in the Polar Bear Plunge every year, and this year was no different. On New Year’s Day a crowd of hardy polar bear plungers descended on Milwaukee’s Bradford Beach, and jumped into a very wintry, very cold lake.
