Dave “Punky” Wastak spent many years behind the scenes at the Big Gig. He started as a driver in the ’70s and eventually managed Summerfest’s Comedy Pavilion (which we discussed on this podcast last year). Having spent so much time with the World’s Largest Music Festival, Punky has more than a few stories to share, like the time he gave The Ramones a wild ride back to their hotel, the days when they used to keep beer in the drivers room, or what Willie Nelson keeps in a flower box while on the road (Hint: Not flowers).
