A sneak preview of Haunted History Tours

Riverside Theater

On a gloomy Tuesday evening, I found myself under the big marquee of the Riverside Theater along the Milwaukee River downtown. This place saw Bob Hope in his 20s. It survived economic woes, fire, and Kyoto drum laser shows.

Along the way, the employees kept being…well…visited.

A litany of late-night encounters with restless spirits along with research from paranormal investigators now lead up to Friday night’s tours of the beloved venue from the abandoned sections of the basement all the way up to the lofty projectionist’s booth.

Local theater maven Susan Scot Fry (of Optimist Theatre and Caper Company Tours fame) and long-time Pabst Foundation employee Jason Gierl are leading the packs with flashlights and stories to tell.

As of this writing, there are only a few spots left for the twelve tours Friday night starting at 7 p.m. In case you miss it (or the tours are sold out) — we got a sneak peek.  The result is this guided audio slideshow and just some of the stories that will be told.

Haunted History Tours: The Riverside Theater starts Friday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. Click here for more information.
