At the movies with Gino Salomone
Gino Salomone may have one of the best jobs in the world. A cinephile since childhood, Gino has always nurtured a love for film and the movie-going experience. As a local television and radio personality (appearing on 96.5 WKLH with Dave & Carole and WISN’s “Gino Goes to the Movies,” to name a few), he’s parlayed that fondness for film into a career that takes him around the world and introduces him to some of the nation’s hottest celebrities.
He may take in press screenings here at Milwaukee’s own Oriental Theatre, or jet off to Moscow for the opening of Transformers 3, but one thing’s for certain – Gino is not your average film critic. Sure, production companies might set press up in swanky accommodations, but if the film is no good, Gino tells it like it is. And when chatting with A-List actors, he has his own unique interview style – just ask him how he got Sandra Bullock to say ‘yes’ to an impromptu marriage proposal.
Today, Gino talks about his love affair with movies and shares stories from some of his best, worst, and most interesting interviews from the past two decades.

Just saw Rickie and the Flash. should have gotten better reviews. Meryl is a wonder, don’t you think? And then to think about her and Kline–all the way from Sophie’s choice. Love you on studio A, but I no longer listen to WQFM since the demise of Carol.
