Photo Intern, ThirdCoast Digest

OVERVIEW

ThirdCoast Digest, Milwaukee’s online portal for arts, culture, news, events, and community, is now accepting applications for a photo internship for fall 2012. Get hands-on experience in the rapidly changing landscape of online publishing and journalism at a dynamic and growing web venture.

DESCRIPTION

Photo interns are asked to spend 10 hours a week with us, both in the office and in the field, for about 10-12 weeks. In addition to shooting general photo assignments, you will:

  • Assist the Photo Editor with imaging needs
  • Create original photo collages for TCD’s editorial team
  • Take on various assignments around the city to capture events as they happen

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Access to a good camera (preferably a digital SLR) and at least basic photo editing software
  • Fresh ideas and a willingness to explore Milwaukee and surrounding areas
  • Journalism and/or web development experience
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and meet short deadlines

COMPENSATION

This is an unpaid internship, but we offer college credit to students currently enrolled in colleges and universities, depending on the requirements of your program. However, you do not have to be enrolled in school to be an intern at ThirdCoast Digest.
