By - Jun 2nd, 2010 01:30 pm

The single greatest week of eating in Milwaukee starts tomorrow. The fifth edition of Downtown Dining Week will kick off on June 3rd and run through June 10th. Lunch meals are available for $10, and dinner is available for $20 (or $30 at a handful of places) at numerous downtown restaurants. If you’re looking to sample a lot downtown eateries, this is your week. All meals are three courses.

Please remember to tip your servers, as food heaven for you is frequently food hell for them.

  1. OK, In general I love working and eating out downtown, but Downtown Dining Week is a joke for the most part. In general over the last handful of years I think 4 of 5 Downtown Dining Week specials have had crummy food, poor service and a long wait. There are some standouts each year, like Karl Ratzsch’s and Coquette Cafe, but in general I have been disappointed. I find it odd that restaurants put out iffy to bad food just to make money the one week a year they can tempt workers away from their corporate cafeterias.

@Dave Schlabowske The complaint I normally here is from staff about poor tipping this week… Interesting.

  3. I am trying it for lunch tomorrow so we will see. I make sure to tip well;)
