Rep. Barca Responds to CBO Score of Senate Health Care Bill

"This bill isn’t just mean, as President Trump characterized the House bill; it’s cruel."

MADISON – Today, Assembly Democratic Leader Peter Barca (D – Kenosha) commented on the new Congressional Budget Office (CBO) analysis of the U.S. Senate’s bill intended to repeal the Affordable Care Act:

“This bill isn’t just mean, as President Trump characterized the House bill; it’s cruel,” said Rep. Barca. “I wonder if Republicans in Congress are actually listening to the American public. If they were, they’d hear loud, resounding opposition to a bill that throws 22 million people off health care. For weeks, Senate Republicans have crafted their bill behind closed doors. The result is another handout of our hard-earned tax dollars to millionaires and billionaires at the expense of everyday Americans. Maybe Republicans have given up on doing the right thing. Wisconsin and all of America deserve better.”
