Milwaukee Area Technical College’s accounting program has been ranked one of the “50 Best Online Associate in Accounting Degrees for 2017” by College Choice, a leading authority in college and university rankings and resources.

College Choice developed its list by comparing the academic reputation, student satisfaction, affordability and average annual salary of graduates from online associate in arts/associate in science accounting programs across the country.

“MATC is proud to have one of the best online accounting programs in the country. This national recognition affirms the quality of an MATC education,” said MATC President Dr. Vicki J. Martin. “We offer an educational experience that is rigorous and career-focused. Also, MATC has many articulation agreements with four-year colleges to provide efficient and affordable transfer options for our graduates to earn a bachelor’s degree.”

The MATC accounting associate degree program can be completed within two years of full-time study. For students seeking to pursue a bachelor’s degree, MATC has established more than a dozen articulation agreements with four-year colleges and universities that enable its accounting graduates to transfer their credits and apply them toward related degrees.

Specifically, the MATC accounting associate degree program curriculum provides fundamental accounting skills in a range of applications, including financial, managerial, tax and payroll areas

of accounting. In addition to online, MATC also provides the program in a face-to-face format at its Downtown Milwaukee, Oak Creek and West Allis campuses.

Additionally, MATC offers an accounting bookkeeper trainee certificate and an accounting assistant technical diploma program online and face to face. The programs form an accounting career pathway that enables MATC students to seamlessly apply their credits to more advanced credentials while also preparing to enter the workforce.

PayScale, university and college websites, and nationally recognized U.S. News & World Report and The National Center for Education Statistics are the data sources for this list.
