ICYMI: John Humphries Proposes Another Consulting Contract to Benefit Himself

Madison — On February 17th, 2017 news reports showed that as part of the Humpries-Holtz Takeover Plan to break apart Wisconsin’s 5 Largest School Districts, John Humphries outlined a taxpayer-funded proposal for a consulting contract to benefit either himself or Lowell Holtz for dropping out of the race.
The December 23rd email, was obtained by the Wisconsin State Journal. The article says the email was follow up to Humphries and Holtz’s December 22nd meeting, where they outlined their Humphries-Holtz Takeover Plan. It included a tax-payer compensation package of $150,000, and a dedicated personal driver. In his email, John Humphries wrote “I think the most effective way to do that would be to consider a consulting agreement.”
The following is a statement from Tony Evers for State Superintendent Campaign Manager, Amanda Brink:
“We have seen consulting contract proposals from John Humphries before, and they only seem to benefit one person – John Humphries.
The salary set by Wisconsin Statutes for the State Superintendent is not even close to the $150,000 mark. This is similar to the proposal that Humphries negotiated for himself when he left the Dodgeville School District to run for office, giving himself a pay bump to a daily rate of $650/day.”
