Madison, WI – gener8tor, a startup accelerator, earned a ranking of 14 as revealed by the 2014 Seed Accelerator Rankings Project (http://www.seedrankings.com). Annual rankings were published today at SXSW (South by Southwest), a popular technology, culture and music festival that takes place in Austin, TX. This is the first year that gener8tor participated in the rankings project by providing access to their data. About the event: http://schedule.sxsw.com/2015/events/event_IAP40699

The annual seed accelerator rankings are compiled by Prof. Yael Hochberg of Rice University and MIT (http://yael-hochberg.com). “This annual ranking is aimed to start a broader conversation about what makes a great accelerator and inform entrepreneurs who are choosing between programs to apply to,” said Prof. Hochberg.

gener8tor recruits, mentors and trains entrepreneurs leading high-tech business ventures from around the world. Since June 2012, the 28 startup graduates from gener8tor’s previous five accelerator programs have gone on to raise over $40 million in financing and create over 300 jobs.

“This ranking reflects the tremendous accomplishments of the entrepreneurs we’ve had the privilege to invest in over the past 32 months,” said Joe Kirgues, Co-Founder of gener8tor.

gener8tor was founded in 2012 by Dan Armbrust, Joe Kirgues, Troy Vosseller, Jon Eckhardt and Joel Abraham. The group runs two accelerator programs per year, alternating between Madison and Milwaukee.

“We’re thrilled to be recognized as a top 15 accelerator,” said Troy Vosseller, Co-Founder of gener8tor. “To be ranked in the top 15, in any category, is a true honor. We look forward to these rankings shining an even brighter light on Wisconsin’s startup community.”
