Ald. Witkowski invites residents to “Around the Corner” preview party
“Around the Corner” is a Milwaukee Public Television program hosted by Milwaukee native and Emmy-winning actor John McGivern.
Alderman Terry L. Witkowski invites community members to attend a preview party for an episode of “Around the Corner with John McGivern” that will focus on the “Garden District,” the portion of Milwaukee’s far South Side encompassed by the 13th Aldermanic District.
“I’m endlessly proud of the place that I call home, and I’m happy to see the Garden District getting some much-deserved recognition,” Alderman Witkowski said. “I invite my neighbors to come out for a sneak peek at the episode before it hits the air and the secret gets out that the Garden District is such a great place to live.”
“Around the Corner” is a Milwaukee Public Television program hosted by Milwaukee native and Emmy-winning actor John McGivern. Each episode takes viewers on a unique “field trip” through different towns and neighborhoods in Wisconsin, focusing on their unique attributes and fascinating histories. Tuesday’s free preview party is sponsored by the Gateway to Milwaukee.

Mr. Gurda, a Milwaukee-born writer and historian, has studied his hometown since 1972.
The building had been vacant for a number of years before the city was forced to foreclose upon it.
Future plans for five sites, including the Wildenberg Hotel, will be among the items discussed.
