Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs has introduced four resolutions to be heard during the upcoming Zoning, Neighborhoods and Development Committee meeting that target a variety of quality of life issues in neighborhoods throughout Milwaukee. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 10 at 9 a.m.

“Our city is at its best when our neighborhoods are thriving, and the resolutions that will be discussed Tuesday codify footnotes in the 2023 City budget that intend to strengthen neighborhoods in a variety of ways,” said Alderwoman Coggs.

The files sponsored by Alderwoman Coggs on the committee meeting agenda for Tuesday include:

  • File #221234 – resolution directing the Department of City Development to collaborate with the Police Department and Health Department – Office of Violence Prevention towards improving worker and neighborhood safety for the Homes MKE program.
  • File #221285 – resolution directing the Department of Neighborhood Services to survey developers and residents about their experience with the Development Center and report the results of the survey annually to the Common Council.
  • File #221286 – resolution directing the Department of Neighborhood Services to prioritize spending of at least $400,000 of demolition funding on concentrated blight areas.
  • File #221321 – resolution relating to the maximum estimated costs to correct code violations for any one property to be eligible under the Compliance Loan Program administered by the Department Neighborhood of Services.

The Zoning, Neighborhoods and Development Committee meeting will be streamed live on the City Channel (channel 25 on Spectrum Cable and channel 99 on AT&T U-Verse in the City of Milwaukee) and via streaming video on the city website at www.city.milwaukee.gov/Channel25.
