Work to resume on multiple bridges over WIS 145 in Milwaukee County
W. Silver Spring Drive, N. 76th Street, and two pedestrian bridges to be improved.
Beginning this week, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will resume improvement projects on multiple bridges over WIS 145 (Fond Du Lac Freeway) in Milwaukee County. The W. Silver Spring Drive bridge and N. 76th Street bridge will be re-decked. In addition, the two pedestrian bridges at W. Sheridan Avenue and N. 84th Street will also be updated.
What to Expect
- At least one lane of travel will be maintained in each direction along bridges during construction. Traffic will use the recently constructed crossovers while bridge re-decking work is underway on Silver Spring Drive and 76th
- Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on WIS 145 (Fond Du Lac Freeway) during construction.
- Access to businesses and residences in the project limits will be maintained.
- Long-term on-ramp and off-ramp closures are expected at the 76th Street interchange at WIS 145 and the Silver Spring Drive interchange at WIS 145.
- Short-term closures of pedestrian bridges at N. 84th Street and W. Sheridan Ave.
Zenith Tech, Inc is the prime contractor for the $8.9 million contract. Work is scheduled to be completed by late summer 2024. All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
