MILWAUKEE – October 16, 2023 – WMSE 91.7FM is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Milwaukee’s streetcar The Hop for a one-of-a-kind live broadcast event. On October 25 starting at noon, Transit Transmissions: WMSE Hop Tour 2023 will bring the power of independent radio to the heart of Milwaukee.

The WMSE Hop Tour leaves the station and the broadcast hits the airways during the station’s popular Squid Inc. show. Hosted by Sid and DJ’d by Christreater (Chris Schullist), the duo will soundtrack their journey along The Hop’s M line, which includes a station stop right outside the WMSE studios.

“We’re bringing a new meaning to the concept of a remote broadcast,” says Station Manager Tom Crawford. “WMSE will lay tracks on the tracks all over downtown. This is going to be a really fun event and we’re thankful to The Hop and Milwaukee Tool for making it possible.”

Special guests will join the fun and ride the WMSE Hop Tour 2023 including Milwaukee Department of Public Works Commissioner Jerrel Kruschke, Chuck Jones and Marty Defatte of Guerrilla Ghost, Matt Wild, Editor-in-Chief for the Milwaukee Record, Dr. Jeremy Kedziora, the Pieper Power Endowed Chair in Artificial Intelligence at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, rapper NilexNile, Beth Weirick, CEO of Milwaukee Downtown, and more.

“Transit Transmissions promises a memorable and interactive experience for Milwaukee residents and beyond,” says Department of Public Works Commissioner Jerrel Kruschke. “The Hop and WMSE have a lot in common; They are both vehicles to connect our city. Together we’ll build community and connections and bring music, entertainment, and camaraderie to Hop riders’ commutes.”
