WisGOP Statement on the Passing of Senator Herb Kohl
MADISON, Wis. – Today, the Republican Party of Wisconsin released the following statement regarding the passing of former Senator Herb Kohl:
“The Republican Party of Wisconsin expresses its condolences on the passing of Senator Herb Kohl. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family in this difficult time.”
NOTE: This press release was submitted to Urban Milwaukee and was not written by an Urban Milwaukee writer. While it is believed to be reliable, Urban Milwaukee does not guarantee its accuracy or completeness.
It is pretty sad and pathetic that the Republican Party could not mention a few of the great, non-partisan programs that Herb Kohl supported which benefited all citizens of the State.
Kohl’s record as a Senator is a mixed bag. Some good, some bad. Good: An environmentalist, pro-choice and a supporter of civil rights. Bad: Bankruptcy “reform,” limits on damages and voting for the Defense of Marriage Act that banned federal recognition of same-sex marriage. Weird!
When you consider the extreme low quality of Republican Senators since Kohl took office, he looks George Washington.
Two more Kohl Goods: Implying Clarence Thomas had people helping him answer questions during his confirmation hearings. Voting against his confirmation.
