WisDems Denounce GOP Subpoena Circus

MADISON, Wis. –– Democratic Party of Wisconsin Executive Director Nellie Sires issued the following statement in response to the issuance of unenforceable subpoenas by Assembly Republicans related to the 2020 election:

“Today’s announcement that Assembly Republicans are seeking to bring an Arizona-style Cyber Ninja circus to Wisconsin makes clear that Speaker Vos has lost control of his caucus. Robin Vos had every opportunity to tell the truth about the 2020 election and defend the hard work of dedicated local clerks and the thousands of poll workers who stepped up across the state last November, but he chose instead to cater to the most radical corners of his party in an effort to satisfy those who will never be satisfied until the results of a free and fair election are overturned.

“Let’s be clear: these subpoenas are absurd and unenforceable. The text of the documents include entire passages lifted verbatim from subpoenas issued in Arizona, asking for equipment used in Arizona, but not Wisconsin. Elsewhere, they ask county clerks to provide materials maintained by municipal clerks. Additionally, under Wisconsin law, these subpoenas lack any force of law without the approval of Speaker Vos and his Chief Clerk. The amateur-hour theatrics on display today would be funny if the stakes for our democracy were not so high.

“The Cyber Ninjas cannot come to Wisconsin without the Speaker’s signature, so it’s time for Robin Vos to choose: either tell the truth about the 2020 election, or let himself be consumed by the lies he has allowed to fester in his own caucus.”

OK The ballots are the property of the State of Wisconsin and under the protection of the Election Commission NO ONE HAS ACCESS to them except the Staff of the Election Commission. If some fools want the ballots they can pay 5 cents a copy and get copies of the ballots BUT THEY CAN NOT HAVE THE ORGINALS That was the critical mistake the folks in AZ made allowing official records to be released. As an example let’s take original bills that are passed by the legislature and signed into law. Any one can get a copy BUT only those who are authorized to touch them can do so. IT IS CRITICAL THAT THE Democrats GO TO COURT TO PROTECT THE BALLOTS and the integrity of the 2020 Election.
