Wisconsin Veterans Chamber Announces SITE Staffing as a Five Star Invest in Vets Employer

MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Veterans Chamber has awarded SITE Staffing the Chamber’s Five Star Invest in Vets Employer rating, an honor that recognizes businesses that demonstrate a commitment to hiring, training and retaining veterans, service members and military spouses.

The Five Star Employer Invest in Vets program recognizes leaders in the Wisconsin veterans business community. To “earn stars,” businesses must adopt veteran, veteran family, and veteran-spouse supporting policies and procedures in the areas of hiring, internal support, continuing education, and community involvement. SITE Staffing is only the second business in Wisconsin to reach the necessary criteria to be awarded the Five Star Employer rating.

In the past year, SITE Staffing’s veteran and military spouse employment has increased by 100%. SITE Staffing is also committed to the mission of the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce and the “Invest in Our Vets” initiative and is working in collaboration with the WVCC to create a platform and programs to assist in the transition for military spouses  relocating to Wisconsin.

“SITE Staffing is uniquely positioned to educate employers on how to best recruit and support veterans while preparing them to reintegrate into the workforce,” said Saul Newton, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce. “Their work helping other companies excel in supporting the veteran community will have lasting returns in improving the business climate for veterans, service members and their families.”

SITE Staffing and the WVCC are working on a project to identify how companies can become “Veteran Ready” versus “Veteran Friendly” in tandem with developing a more structured and understanding environment through counseling and coaching for transitioning veterans to the civilian workforce. SITE Staffing continually networks with Veteran-centric organizations to learn from their process to help us in our Invest in Vets initiative, while also assisting employers on how to successfully hire and retain veterans to help build a structured and strong workforce.
