Wisconsin Center District Announces New Board

The board will hold its first meeting on Friday, September 21 at the Wisconsin Center.

MILWAUKEE, WI – (August 31, 2018) –  The Wisconsin Center District (WCD) has announced the appointees to its new board. The WCD board as it stood for the previous three years dissolved on July 31, at the mark of substantial completion of Fiserv Forum as declared by Wisconsin Secretary of Administration Ellen Nowak.

“I am looking forward to bringing together this dynamic group of leaders to develop the strategy for the future of the Wisconsin Center District,” said WCD President and CEO Marty Brooks. “The WCD is on the verge of an exciting transformation and this board will be the author of our story.”

The new 17-member board includes: Milwaukee Common Council President Ashanti Hamilton; Milwaukee Alderman Robert Bauman; Milwaukee Alderwoman Milele Coggs; Milwaukee Comptroller Martin Matson; MillerCoors CEO James Kanter; Wauwatosa Mayor Kathy Ehley; Wisconsin Secretary of Administration Ellen Nowak; Wisconsin Assemblyman Joe Sanfelippo; Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald; Milwaukee County Comptroller Scott Manske; CEO of the Marcus Corporation Greg Marcus; Managing Partner of Jackson Street Holdings Mark Flaherty; Co-owner and President of SURG Restaurant Group Omar Shaikh; Assembly Minority Leader Gordon Hintz; Wisconsin Senate Minority Leader Latonya Johnson; and President and CEO of Discovery World Joel Brennan. The final member, a second appointee from the Mayor of the City of Milwaukee, is forthcoming.

The board will hold its first meeting on Friday, September 21 at the Wisconsin Center, at which time a new board chairperson will be elected.
