WIS 38 improvement project set to begin Monday July 6th
Project covers WIS 38 between 6th Street and Rapids Drive
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) WIS 38 project team will get underway with an improvement project on WIS 38 in Racine County between 6th Street and Rapids Drive. Work will get underway on Monday July 6th and will be done by late-October.
This project will be improving signals, repairing deteriorated concrete, upgrading sidewalk, and applying a high friction surface treatment. The project will be constructed in two stages with will have closures impacting State Street. There will be new signals installed late in 2020 to complete this project which will include the placement of monotubes for the new signals.
A detour route will be marked during the various stages to allow motorist to get around the construction zone. Some lane closures will be needed when the new signals are installed.
