WI Supreme Court Race: Daniel Kelly Advances as Right-Wing Candidate

By - Feb 21st, 2023 10:18 pm

Results of the expensive and brutal Wisconsin state Supreme Court primary are out tonight, and Daniel Kelly — the far right-wing, anti-democracy conservative candidate who has previously lost this race — has secured enough votes to make it onto the general election ballot in April. Kelly will face prosecutor Janet Protasiewicz on that ballot.

“Dan Kelly lost this race before, and he’ll lose it again — because the people of Wisconsin know better than to trust him with their future,” said Alexandra De Luca, spokesperson for American Bridge 21st Century. “American Bridge has been laser-focused on this critical state Supreme Court race and we’ve been watching all these candidates for months. Dan Kelly is a disaster, and we will continue to ensure every single voter knows his full, messy background come election day in April.”

Coverage of this off-cycle election has been substantial, because of the impact this race could have on the lives of people in Wisconsin and across the country. Abortion rights, labor rights, voting rights and even fair redistricting are all at stake:
