Wellpoint Care Network Board Member To Recieve Mentor Award
MILWAUKEE — Wellpoint Care Network, a community-facing human services organization in Milwaukee, celebrates board member Mary McCormick, who will be recognized at the 33rd Annual TEMPO Mentor Awards.
“I was just thrilled,” says McCormick. “I was completely taken by surprise. It has truly just filled me with great joy and appreciation of the people who nominated me. I’m very excited — joyful is really the word I like to say, because it makes my heart smile.”
McCormick is the executive director of the Rotary Club of Milwaukee and has served on the Wellpoint Care board for nearly 15 years.
“Wellpoint Care does terrific work in an important space within the Milwaukee community. What they do to help individuals and families work to overcome the effects of generations of trauma and adversity is critically important.”
TEMPO’s Mentor Awards recognize individuals and organizations in the Milwaukee community dedicated to the mentoring of others.
“One of the things I say about myself is that I’m not always the most creative person in the room, but I have an ability to see good ideas and identify them,” says McCormick. “Being in Rotary or being in the organizations in our community that I’m part of, there are a lot of great ideas out there. I’ve been very fortunate to have wonderful people
around me, and I’m fortunate to be able to support and encourage that work.”
The 33rd Annual TEMPO Mentor Awards take place Thursday, February 16, 2023, at The Pfister Grand Ballroom.
McCormick says she is thrilled that all her entire family will be in attendance for the Awards ceremony, some of her children coming from opposites sides of the United States.
