WEAC recommends Representative Josh Zepnick in 9th Assembly District
Wisconsin students need legislators who stand up for their public schools, teachers say
The Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC) is recommending re-election of Josh Zepnick for representative in the 9th Assembly District.
“Representative Zepnick has a strong family background in advocating for students and public education,” said Betsy Kippers, a teacher and WEAC president. “He is a graduate of Rufus King High School in Milwaukee Public Schools and continues to support the critical role public schools have in building strong communities.”
“Representative Zepnick knows firsthand how decisions in Madison impact students,” Kippers said. “He will continue to work with educators and the residents of the 9th Assembly District.”
In the democratic selection process, WEAC members focused on areas including support for public schools, giving employees a voice in school decisions and professional respect for the role educators have in keeping our communities strong.
WEAC, the state’s largest association of professional educators, amplifies the voices of public school teachers and support staff to ensure all students have high-quality public schools.
