VISIT Milwaukee Launches Refreshed Website in Advance of 2024 Company Rebrand

New website improves experience and functionality to attract more visitors to Milwaukee

By - Jul 6th, 2023 03:26 pm

Today VISIT Milwaukee is proud to unveil its new website (www.visitmilwaukee.org) that offers visitors and locals alike an enhanced experience, improved functionality and exciting new content. Like a Milwaukee Bucks or Brewers alternate jersey, the look of the website has been updated with a design VISIT Milwaukee is calling “Milwaukee fresh” – a temporary design that will ultimately be replaced with new company branding in early 2024.

The website was created and designed by Simpleview, which operates the leading tourism content management system (CMS) and contact resource management platform (CRM). A longtime user of its CRM platform, VISIT Milwaukee chose Simpleview to create its new website because of its ability to better integrate the site with critical partnership data that will offer a more seamless experience for the company’s 850+ partners and website visitors. Other tourism websites recently created or redesigned by Simpleview include those for Visit OaklandVisit Austin  and Visit Salt Lake City.

“The new website is more functional, highlights our partners better, and ultimately will help us reach more potential visitors,” says VISIT Milwaukee Vice President of Marketing & Communications Josh Albrecht. “While we had over 1.5 million website visitors in 2022 – the most in company history – we know we will attract more in 2023 and beyond thanks to this improved website experience.”

Other new features on the website include:

  • A content hub that features the Joshin’ Around podcast, “Good Things Brewing” episodes and bonus content, timely blog posts, and more
  • An “experience map” that offers visitors a whimsical way to explore exciting Milwaukee information to help them plan their trip
  • A new hotel booking widget from Book Direct that creates a more streamlined process for the end-user looking for overnight stays in the community
  • A tourism insights section that offers the public information about Milwaukee visitors and their travel patterns, as well as information about the positive impact those visitors have on the Greater Milwaukee area
  • Formerly Milwaukee365.com, VISIT Milwaukee’s calendar of events is now wholly integrated into the website and has a much more efficient event submission process. As the top-ranked calendar of Milwaukee events on Google search, the new VISIT Milwaukee calendar of events is open to anyone in the community.
  • Easier overall navigation so that users find the trip or event-planning information they need faster

Simpleview created the concept for “Milwaukee fresh” in partnership with VISIT Milwaukee’s marketing team after extensive in-market research. The concept expresses the community’s sense of originality while nodding to its singular history and fully embracing the dynamism of its future.

“Even though it’s temporary, we love the Milwaukee fresh design and think many elements of it will look even better once we complete our rebrand work next year,” says Albrecht.

To complete the rebranding of the organization, VISIT Milwaukee has partnered with local agency Ocupop on the design and P3 Development Group to engage the community throughout the rebrand process. P3 Development Group has already begun extensive research and interviews with members of the community from all corners of the County. The company expects to unveil the new branding – which will include new advertising and marketing materials, a new look for the website, and more – in early 2024 in anticipation of the major events coming to Milwaukee that summer.
