Village Debuts Small Business Growth Program

New Initiative Recognizes and Supports Mount Pleasant Businesses

MOUNT PLEASANT, WI – The Village of Mount Pleasant will spotlight and support local companies through a new Small Business Retention & Expansion Program.

The Village’s program will engage local businesses with 500 or fewer employees. It will connect them with resources, promote them online, and use their feedback to improve Village services. Companies can get involved through an online survey to share their needs and concerns with Village leaders.

“This new program celebrates and assists small business owners and employees who make this community thrive,” said David DeGroot, Mount Pleasant Village President. “These businesses create jobs, strengthen our local culture, and provide services our residents need. The Village is committed to help small businesses succeed, and values their investment and contribution to the local economy.”

A team of Village ambassadors will reach out to businesses that complete the survey. They will receive a “Support Local” Village window cling, and opportunities to be featured in the Village’s social media accounts and websites. Feedback from those business leaders will help Village officials streamline services. Small businesses are also encouraged to contact the Village at smallbizsupport@mtpleasantwi.gov.

This program will also connect business owners to existing resources offered by Village partners including the Racine County Economic Development Corp., Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., and Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce. Those organizations offer a range of training courses, low-cost financing options, and hands-on consulting.

“Through strong partnerships with the Village and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, RCEDC ensures local business owners are connected to the tools they need to grow, from affordable financing and market insight to hands-on consulting that supports long-term success,” said Laura Million, Deputy Director of Racine County Economic Development Corp.
