Veterans Day Ceremony Will Honor WWII Hero
Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele and the Milwaukee County Veterans Service Office are pleased to announce a unique award ceremony at the War Memorial Center on November 10, 2012.
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele and the Milwaukee County Veterans Service Office are pleased to announce a unique award ceremony at the War Memorial Center on November 10, 2012.
WWII Veteran Ralph Windler of South Milwaukee will receive the Knight of the Legion of Honor medal, the highest honor that France bestows. Windler participated in the Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe Campaigns.
Windler is being recognized by the French Government for his service and heroics during the war.
When: November 10, 2012 – At the conclusion of the Veterans Day Parade (approximately 1:30pm)
