VB Announces Signing of Luanna Markus
Accomplished setter brings experience with Brazil U19 National Team to the Golden Eagles.
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Marquette volleyball has announced the addition of Luanna Markus, a highly accomplished setter from Brazil, to its 2026 recruiting class.
Markus brings international experience and a winning pedigree to the Golden Eagles. She has been a key member of Brazil’s U19 National Team, earning recognition as one of the top young setters in the world. In 2024, Markus was named Best Setter at the U19 South American Championship, helping lead the national team to a first-place finish in the tournament. She also competed at the 2025 U19 World Championships, where Brazil placed eighth.
At the club level, Markus plays for Paulistano/Barueri Volleyball Club, one of Brazil’s premier programs. She guided her team to a second-place finish at the 2025 Paulista Championship, showcasing her leadership and playmaking ability against elite competition.
Markus joins three other additions previously announced in early November to the 2026 Golden Eagles recruiting class.
