UWM to host Wisconsin senatorial debate on July 26

All five Republican candidates have agreed to participate.

MILWAUKEE _ The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will host a debate among the Wisconsin Republican candidates for U.S. Senate at its Mainstage Theatre July 26.

The debate will air live on WTMJ-TV and WUWM-FM (89.7) and be simulcast on WGBA-TV. WTMJ news anchors Charles Benson and Shannon Sims, along with WUWM’s Mitch Teich, will moderate.

The debate will start at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 26. All five Republican candidates have agreed to participate – Charles Barman, Griffin Jones, George Lucia, Kevin Nicholson and Leah Vukmir.

Additional media partners include WisPolitics.com, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and USA Today Network.

The debate will be livestreamed at wuwm.com and tmj4.com.

The first hour of the debate will be televised. The last half-hour will air live on WUWM radio and stream live on wuwm.com, tmj4.com, nbc26.com, WisPolitics.com and jsonline.com. The event is ticketed, with all tickets going to the campaigns and debate sponsors.

 

Debate attendees can park in the Student Union parking structure at 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd. When you enter, pull a ticket and use a pay station to pay for parking.

Members of the public can submit questions for the candidates by texting “debate” and their questions to 414-269-6404.
