UW-Green Bay chancellor finalists named

MADISON, Wis.—University of Wisconsin System President Ray Cross today announced four finalists for the position of chancellor at University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, a four-campus university with locations in Green Bay, Manitowoc, Marinette, and Sheboygan.

A 12-member Search and Screen Committee, led by Regent Robert Atwell and Professor of Biology Michael Draney, recommended a list of finalists. The Special Regent Committee determined that the following finalists will continue in the selection process.

The finalists, listed in alphabetical order, are:

Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, UW-Green Bay
Green Bay, WI

Mark L. Biermann
Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Valparaiso University
Valparaiso, IN

Teresa M. Flannery
Policy Fellow, Center for University Excellence, American University
Washington, D.C.

Lori Vermeulen
Former Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Stockton University
Galloway, NJ

In late February and early March, the four candidates will participate in separate public forums, offering opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and community members to interact directly with them.

President Cross and the Special Regent Committee will interview finalists March 26. The Special Regent Committee includes Regents Robert Atwell, Scott Beightol, Becky Levzow, and Karen Walsh. They will recommend one candidate to the full Board of Regents, which must approve the appointment.

The person selected through this process will be UW-Green Bay’s seventh chancellor.
