MILWAUKEE, WI – Jack Eckblad, candidate for Milwaukee County Board Supervisory District 4, proudly announced his campaign’s endorsement from the UAW Southeastern Wisconsin Area CAP Council (UAW SE WI CAP) today.

The UAW SE WI CAP enthusiastically supports Jack Eckblad’s candidacy to be District 4’s next Milwaukee County Board Supervisor. The UAW Citizenship and Legislative (CAP) Committee described itself as the, “worksite political-legislative arm of the local union and the vital workplace political activator.” The CAP, “support[s] candidates who support and fight for working people.”

Eckblad responded to the endorsement, “I am honored to receive UAW’s support. Public officials have a responsibility to stand in solidarity with workers who are trying to organize and collectively bargain. Since Day 1 of the UAW strike in Bay View, I was on the frontline walking with workers multiple days because I truly believe in solidarity and wanted to support the UAW and workers however I could. I worked closely with Representative Christine Sinicki to figure out how I could best support our union brothers and sisters during this time. The UAW and workers at-large would have no stronger ally on the Milwaukee County Board.”

UAW SE WI CAP joins twelve leaders and elected officials from the city, county, and state levels in supporting Eckblad’s campaign for bold, responsible leadership. Eckblad has also been endorsed by the Democratic Party of Milwaukee County, Fair Wisconsin PAC, Milwaukee Area Labor Council, UFCW 1473, Milwaukee Area Service & Hospitality Workers, and AFT Local 212 COPE.
