U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón to speak at UWM Distinguished Lecture Series
MILWAUKEE_The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is proud to welcome Ada Limón, the 24th poet laureate of the United States, as part of its Distinguished Lecture Series. Limón, an award-winning poet and MacArthur “Genius” Fellow, will speak at UWM on Tuesday, April 15, sharing insights from her celebrated career in poetry, literature and the intersection of art and the natural world.
As U.S. poet laureate, Limón launched “You Are Here,” a signature project focusing on how poetry can help us connect to the natural world. In addition to receiving a Guggenheim Fellowship, she made history when her poem was engraved on NASA’s Europa Clipper spacecraft, which launched to Jupiter’s second moon in October 2024.
