Train on Trades Career Expo to Connect Students with Careers in the Trades This Week
Alderwoman Larresa Taylor is encouraging interested students, along with their parents or schools, to attend the Train on Trades Career Expo hosted by Cutting Edge this week. The three-day expo will take place February 4 – 6 from 8:45 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. daily at The Baird Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave.
Students in grades 8 through 12 are invited to explore hands-on exhibits, engage directly with industry professionals, and discover pathways to stable, fulfilling careers in fields such as construction, manufacturing, electrical work, and more. In addition to interactive trade experiences, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about financial literacy and budgeting. There will be workshops available for students in grades 8, 9, and 10 on Feb. 4th and 5th, and workshops for students in grades 11 and 12 on Feb. 6th.
“Cutting Edge has done fantastic work for years in the 9th District to provide vocational training and job support to those who need it,” said Alderwoman Taylor. “This career expo is an extension of their great work, and I would encourage young people from across the city to take advantage of this opportunity.”
