Tom Tiffany’s Maga Extremism: 4 Fast Facts Wisconsinites Need to Know

MADISON, Wis. — As GOP Congressman Tom Tiffany ramps up his gubernatorial campaign and continues to point the extremism finger, A Better Wisconsin Together says his record in office suggests he could use a mirror.

“From voting for a budget that took food and healthcare away from working people to pay for tax giveaways to billionaires, joining election denying conspiracy theorists in their attempts to overturn Trump’s 2020 election loss in Wisconsin, and even endorsing a taxpayer funded slush fund to pay off January 6 insurrectionists, Tom Tiffany has been on the extreme right-wing for the entirety of his career,” said A Better Wisconsin Together Deputy Director Mike Browne. “And it doesn’t stop there.”

Here are 4 fast facts about Tom Tiffany’s extremism, and his efforts to hide it from Wisconsinites, that no amount of his fallacious finger-pointing can hide:

  • Tiffany is rated Wisconsin’s #1 most conservative and partisan Congressional representative. As a recent analysis in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel notes, ‘According to a rating system widely used by political scientists, Tiffany is the most conservative of the state’s eight U.S. House members. In fact, by this same system, he is the one of the most conservative House members in Wisconsin’s modern history (surpassed only by Republican Mark Neumann, who served from 1995 to 1999).’ Additional analyses have consistently found Tiffany to be the most partisan member of the Wisconsin congressional delegation and among the most right-wing members of Congress as a whole.
  • Tiffany scrubbed abortion, gun agenda from his website before announcing his gubernatorial run. Shortly before announcing his 2026 campaign for governor of Wisconsin, Tiffany seemingly realized his positions on abortion and firearms are so far out of step with the views of everyday Wisconsinites that he erased those sections from his website. Perhaps he didn’t want the overwhelming majority of Wisconsinites who support abortion access and commonsense gun safety to know that he co-sponsored a federal abortion ban and introduced legislation to allow people to carry hidden guns in public without having to pass a background check, be licensed, or have any gun safety training
  • Tiffany courts extremist groups. Tiffany proudly signed a pledge to support the agenda of Moms For Liberty, a right-wing group that works to ban books and censor curriculum in Wisconsin schools. His anti-abortion extremism has also earned him A+ ratings, endorsement, and thousands of dollars in campaign cash from a federal group whose stated mission is to end abortion and lobbies for national abortion bans with no exceptions.
  • Tiffany Appears With Extreme Right-Wing Commentators. In December 2025, Tiffany participated in a podcast whose host, Jeremy Hambly, has made numerous anti-semitic comments, has been sponsored by a white nationalist publisher, and was involved in online harassment controversies. Tiffany also announced his gubernatorial bid, and frequently appears, on the right-wing Dan O’Donnell radio show. O’Donnell was suspended from the show in early 2026 for calling for the assassination of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. He is also a frequent guest on the Vicki McKenna show. McKenna had a major advertiser pull their ads from the station broadcasting her show as a result of an on-air rant in which she encouraged “militia” and “patriots” to use guns to fight protests in Kenosha.
