Tiffany Campaign: Milwaukee County Resident of 46 Years Slams David Crowley’s Record as Milwaukee County Executive: “David Crowley’s Got to Go”

WAUSAU, WI – Today, Tom Tiffany released a new statewide ad featuring Jim, a Milwaukee County resident of 46 years, who said, “David Crowley’s a failed County Executive, and he would be a failed governor.” He noted that he has seen many politicians come and go in Wisconsin, but Crowley’s tenure as County Executive was a notable failure. Every year that Crowley was in office, taxes went up and overall services went down.

Jim said, “David Crowley’s got to go,” pointing to crime, higher taxes, and declining services under Crowley’s leadership.

“David Crowley had his chance. We cannot afford him to be up in Madison,” Jim said.

The new testimonial ad highlights how Crowley nearly doubled Milwaukee County’s sales tax and the impact higher taxes have on families buying everyday necessities. In the ad, Jim warns families across Wisconsin that Milwaukee County taxpayers have already seen firsthand what Crowley’s approach means for their wallets and they should not give him another chance as governor.

The ad is the latest contrast in Tom Tiffany’s Keep More of Your Hard-Earned Money agenda, which would lower property taxes, deliver a 10% income tax cut for working families, eliminate state income taxes on tips and overtime, return the state surplus to the people of Wisconsin, lower gas prices, and prevent sales tax increases.

“David Crowley failed to keep people safe, raised taxes, and put Wisconsinites last as Milwaukee County Executive,” said Tom Tiffany. “Milwaukee County residents have seen what Crowley does in office: crime is rampant, taxes go up, and services get worse. He raised property taxes five times and nearly doubled the sales tax, making everyday life more expensive. David Crowley had his chance. Wisconsin can’t afford him in Madison.”

As unhappy as I am with Crowley as the Democratic nominee for governor, and even unhappier Evers endorsed him, I am reluctantly voting for him because I think TT would do more damage than Crowley would.

  2. KWH says:

I am a plis thirty year resident and am happy with David Crowley’s administration of my county. Here are the facts concerning his tax rate since being elected:
    $4.18 per $1,0002022 Budget (2021 Assessment): $4.73 per $1,0002021 Budget (2020 Assessment): $4.54 per $1,0002020 Budget (2019 Assessment): $4.83 per $1,0002019 Budget (2018 Assessment): $4.90 per $1,000 [1] (https://city.milwaukee.gov/assessor/data/taxrates1984topresent)
Tom Tiffany does not like to reveal facts only threats and lies.

  3. CraigR says:

Where was “Jim” when Ament and Walker were county executives? Crowley inherited a pile of dog sh*t and is doing what he can with it.
I’m also tired of Tiffany’s (and allied PACs) painting Wisconsin’s largest county as a hell hole that isn’t part of what he wants to represent. Plenty of people live happy normal lives here and want a governor that serves their interests as well as those in rural areas.

  4. kaygeeret says:

TTs attack on Crowley because of computers in jail was revealed to be so misrepresented it could qualify as a lie on ABC’s local nightly news last night.

Also other counties – including Waukesha – run the same program in their county jails not just MKE.

Gosh, I really, really HATE the ads that precede the actual election. And I especially hate the very ugly and dark ads that the repubs seem to rely on to scare everyone.
