To further the mission of local non-profits, the Common Ground Healthcare Foundation has dispersed $419,000 in grant funding to organizations dedicated to enhancing the well-being of residents across 25 counties in eastern Wisconsin. These counties are home to members of Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative (CGHC), where they live, work, learn, and engage in their communities.

The grants have been allocated to various organizations committed to fostering community health and prosperity:

  • Hope Clinic and Care Center of Menasha: Strengthening Primary Care and Care Management services.
  • Solutions Recovery of Oshkosh: Support for the Sober Living Program and Peer Response Program.
  • Tri-County Community Dental of Appleton: Backing the Robert Glass “Focus on the Children” dental health program.
  • Franciscan Peacemakers of Milwaukee: Aid for interventions supporting women exploited through prostitution or human trafficking.
  • Rock River Community Clinic of Whitewater: Enhancing pediatric access to comprehensive healthcare in southeastern Wisconsin.
  • Common Ground, Inc. of Milwaukee: Supporting the workforce development program.

Melissa Henderson, President of the Foundation, expressed, “We are so excited about these organizations, and their capacity to address the critical issues faced by individuals in our community. These grants serve as vital support systems, assisting those encountering adversity in our community to enhance their health and rebuild their resilience and confidence.”

These awards mark the Foundation’s inaugural grant cycle. Established in July 2023 by Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative, the Foundation aims to elevate the health and prosperity of the communities where its members are actively involved.

Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative CEO Cathy Mahaffey said, “Creating a Foundation had long been a goal for our health plan because it allows us to give back to the community that has supported us. We received an overwhelming number of applicants, and the chosen recipients possess a unique ability to positively impact members in our communities.”
