Supervisor Vincent to Participate in Aviation Experience with Commemorative Air Force this Saturday
MILWAUKEE – Supervisor Kathleen Vincent will join the Commemorative Air Force this Saturday, June 15, 2024, for an aviation experience, embarking on a flight from Milwaukee Mitchell Airport to Timmerman Airport. Supervisor Vincent will fly in a T-34, a former 1950s and early 1960s military trainer aircraft, alongside an SNJ-5, a World War II-era US Navy trainer. These planes will escort an honor flight, commemorating the nation’s military history.
“I am honored to participate in this event with the Commemorative Air Force,” said Supervisor Vincent. “Flying in these historic aircraft is both a tribute to the brave men and women who served our country and serves as an educational experience for the community. It is crucial that we preserve and share these pieces of history so that future generations can appreciate the sacrifices made for our freedom. As a strong advocate for general aviation in Milwaukee County, I believe this event highlights one of the many positive aspects of including general aviation at Milwaukee Mitchell Airport.”
The Commemorative Air Force, a national nonprofit organization, is dedicated to honoring, inspiring, and educating the public about former military aircraft. The organization acquires, restores, and preserves combat aircraft in flying condition, offering a glimpse into the past and ensuring the legacy of these planes lives on for future generations.
