Supervisor Bowen Thanks Committee Colleagues for MCO Audit Approval
Health and Human Needs Committee Approves Audit for Managed Care Organizations
Milwaukee County Supervisor David Bowen today applauded the Health and Human Needs Committee for its approval of a resolution calling for an audit of the County’s Family Care Managed Care Organizations. He issued the following statement:
“I would like to thank my colleagues on the Health and Human Needs Committee for passing a resolution to conduct an audit of all three managed care operations (MCO) contracted through the Milwaukee County Department of Family Care.
“I authored this resolution because I believe accountability and transparency are crucial to the success of our Family Care program. MCOs receive millions of dollars from Family Care every year, and it is imperative we understand how our tax dollars are being utilized. Our constituents have made it clear they want access to this information, and with today’s committee action we are one step closer to transparency.”
